Lemon Vervain is so powerfully relaxing that it soothes just by seeing it and inhaling its citrus fragrance. Its stem and leaves are teeming with essential oils with digestive, anti-inflammatory, relaxing, breath-freshening, and anti-oxidant properties, amongst many others. Its beautiful blossoms, in white and lilac, are a true gift from the land to your eyes.

Ingredients

100% Lemon Vervain (Aloysia triphylla).

Best time to drink

The ideal moment to drink it is after a meal, since its most notable effect is to stimulate digestion. Cool and refreshing, it’s great for preventing muscle inflammation after exercising. Taking it hot before bedtime is a great idea, since its stems are a great source of melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep.

Method of preparation

HOT:

  1. Heat 500 ml of water at 90 °C.
  2. Add two spoonfuls (2 g) of loose leaf tea.
  3. Seep for 5 minutes, no more. It may embitter past that time.

COLD:

  1. Heat 500 ml of water at 90 °C.
  2. Add two spoonfuls (2 g) of loose leaf tea.
  3. Seep up to 5 minutes. Filter the leaves. Add ice.

What does it taste like?

Lemon Vervain is a shrub with a strong personality thanks to its robust citrus essence — surprising to both smell and palate — and its healing properties. In China and Argentina, it’s officially considered medicinal. Here, at FLOR DE LA PAZ, we protect it from the seed by sowing it in proper soil so that its amazing features and citrus flavors stand out when fully grown.

Enjoy it as a tasty infusion!

Enjoy it even more

Whether it’s hot or cold, add a spoonful of organic honey to your tea for an even sweeter experience.
Try it chilled and add pieces of sour fruits —kiwi, pineapple, or green grape. It’s an explosion of flavors!
